Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Yusuf Saraf (Late)
Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Yusuf Saraf was born in Baramulla on 23rd September, 1923 the then princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, but migrated to Pakistan prior to the Partition of India. He graduated from St. Joseph's College Baramulla in 1945. He was the President of Student Union St. Joseph's College Baramulla and also served as President of Kashmir Youth Congress alongwith the responsibility of Secretary for the All-India Students Congress during period from 1944 to 1945.
He was associated with Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah's National Conference in 1945. He attained Bachelors of Law degree from Aligarh University in 1948. He attained Pleadership License from High Court of AJ&K on 26th July, 1949 and got License of Advocacy on January 01, 1952. His Lordship was elevated to the Bench of High Court of AJ&K on April 21st 1969. His Lordship took Oath of the office of Chief Justice High Court of AJ&K on 07 May, 1975. He was also appointed as Member Judicial Board on March 15th, 1975. After a meritorious judicial service, His Lordship was retired on 13th January, 1980 and laid to eternal peace on 2nd January, 1995.
