Mr. Justice (Retd.) Abdul Majeed Mallick (Late)
Mr. Justice Abdul Majeed Mallick was born on 15th September 1932. He got admission in May 1947 in Shri Kiran Singh College Mirpur. He passed his Matriculation exam from Govt. High School Dadyal Mirpur in 1949. He passed intermediate examination from Gordon College Rawalpindi. He passed his BA (Honors) in Economics from Government College Lahore in 1954 and got LLB in 1956 from University Law College Lahore. He became the License holder of Pleadership on 3rd November 1956. He started practice as Lawyer in Lahore. He attained Advocate License in 15th December 1956 from AJ&K High Court.
On 21st October, 1957, He received Advocacy License of Supreme Court. He was elevated to the Bench of High Court of AJ&K as Judge on 28th May, 1978. He became Chief Justice of AJ&K High Court on 8th August 1983 and was appointed as Adhoc Judge of Supreme Court of AJ&K on 29th September 1987 till 22nd September 1989. During this period, He also served as Chief Justice Shariat Court of AJ&K.
His Lordship served (Additionally) as Vice Chancellor of University of AJ&K from 24th December 1989 to 29th May 1990. His Lordship became Chief Justice High Court of AJ&K subsequently on 23rd September, 1989 and was retired on 15th September 1994 as Chief Justice of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
