Former Hon'ble Chief Justice

Mr. Justice Syed Fayaz Hassan Shah was born on 1st November 1898. As Chief Justice of this court He always gave patience hearings to the lawyers and pronounced good judgments full of reasoning and sound knowledge. He loved Azad Kashmir very much and he wanted to become National of this state. He purchased a piece of land in Dhirkot. He up-held the dignity of the high office of the Chief Justice.
It will be useful to point out that Mr. Justice Syed Fayaz Hassan Shah was against the imposition of martial Law in Pakistan. He was very sad on the news of abrogation of the constitution of the Pakistan and the imposition of martial law in 1958.
His lordship had an opportunity to gain vast experience not only as a lawyer but as a teacher in the Law college in Pakistan, and as District & Session Judge in West Pakistan. Government of AJ&K has conferred upon his Lordship “Sitara-i-Khidmat” for administering judiciary flawlessly. He remained Chief Justice from 22nd July, 1955 to 1st October, 1963.
