Mr. Justice (Retd.) Khawaja Muhammad Sharif (Late)
Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif was born on 8th August, 1909 in Gujranwala. He got his LLB degree from Punjab University. He got License of Advocate in 1932 before partition of Kashmir. He was appointed as Assistant Advocate General of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir on 3rd January 1949. He remained Acting Advocate General from 8th October, 1950 to 30th April 1952. He was appointed as Government Advocate in May 1952 and remained Additional Judge of High Court on Adhoc basis from January 1956 to August 1956.
He again remained Government Advocate from September 1956 to 13th March, 1958. His Lordship was elevated as the permanent Chief Justice of High Court of AJ&K on 24th November, 1969 with effect from 13th October, 1964. He was appointed as Chief Election Commissioner of AJ&K on 11th February, 1971. His Lordship was retired on 27th October, 1974. Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif laid to eternal peace on 13th July 1989.
